Colton Sorensen is a multi-faceted fine artist with many areas of expertise. He delves deep into acting and vocal performance on a day-to-day basis, while also pursuing his deepest passions, like lighting design, playing instruments, and pursuing personal projects, like composition and writing. Colton Sorensen grew up largely in Virginia, attending Grassfield High School in Chesapeake and heading to Southern Virginia University to study Theatre, Music, Music Education, and Choral Studies.
Trained to be a professional, Colton has performed in both community and paid capacities at Virginia Stage Company based in Norfolk, Virginia. He now currently works for Southern Virginia University's music and theatre programs, providing lighting in the school's Performing Arts Center. Colton Sorensen has also spent time in purely musical aspects of performance as a member of SVU's Chamber Singers, Men's Chorus, and Accolade, SVU's premiere a cappella group. He also works as a private voice teacher, and has arranged music for Accolade which was featured at ICCA, the biggest a cappella competition in the world, where he also won the "Outstanding Vocal Percussion" award at the Quarterfinals, making him one of the best beatboxers on the entire east coast.
